Bandit helmets are for the motorcyclist who does not go for the beaten track but wants to wear something other than a standard helmet. Thanks to Bandit's combination of quality, comfort and a classic look, you know that you are dealing with a high-quality piece of German skull protection. The helmets are made with the aid of a complicated production process of GRP fiberglass since 1996. The Bandit helmets are designed with little German precision and produced from only the best material. By motorcyclists, for motorcyclists, perfectly fit!
ECE Approved!
If you want to take part in traffic on a motorcycle, scooter or moped in Europe, you are obliged to wear a helmet that is ECE type-approved.
What is the ECE 22.05 inspection?
ECE stands for Economic Commission for Europe. In order to determine a European standard for road safety, for example, several guidelines have been drawn up, including guideline 22, which specifies the minimum requirements that a motorcycle or scooter helmet must meet. In this way, a kind of minimum safety level is set for helmets sold in Europe. In 1982 the first helmet inspection was introduced, this was the ECE 22.02.
The inspection means that the helmet is subjected to a series of tests, with which it is checked whether the helmet offers enough protection to be admitted on European roads. For example, a number of crashes are mimicked to test the degree of protection. You can also think of a check of, for example, the chin strap (to what extent does the helmet stay on your head in the event of a crash) or the size of the viewing angle you have when you wear the helmet.
You can recognize an ECE approved helmet from the label on the chin strap, which has an E with a number on it. The number indicates in which country the helmet has been inspected. This does not mean that the helmet can only be worn in the country, it is only the location where it was tested.
